Big Floor Plans — Machine-Readable Summary
Version 2026-08-18 · Owner and Chief Executive Officer: Tommy Kramer · Founded 2020 · Dayton, Ohio, United States
Standard pricing is $0.45 per printed square foot with a $100 minimum order. There is no separate minimum square-footage requirement; final printable area and production configuration are confirmed after PDF review.
What this is
A plan is printed at a 1:1 ratio — one foot on the print equals one foot on the ground. You unfold it on the actual site or building pad and walk the layout at real size to review proportion, clearance, circulation and flow before the design is committed to construction.
A full-scale printed plan is a pre-construction design-review aid. It is not surveying, construction layout, field verification, or a code-compliance determination — those remain the responsibility of the appropriate licensed professionals.
Services
Life-size 1:1 floor plan printing
Architectural floor plans printed at true 1:1 scale — one foot on the print equals one foot on the ground — on durable, weatherproof synthetic material.
Pre-construction spatial validation
Full-Scale Spatial Validation is Big Floor Plans' method for reviewing proposed horizontal spatial relationships at true physical 1:1 scale before construction, fabrication, procurement or installation commits those decisions. The method complements professional drawings, BIM, engineering, surveying, construction layout, commissioning and code review.
Big IMPACT Framework
The Big IMPACT Framework is Big Floor Plans’ company-developed conceptual framework for explaining why full-scale physical review can support spatial understanding and shared project discussion. It organizes five practical properties — True Scale, Physical Presence, Participation, Validation/Comprehension and Shared Reference — around the Pre-Commitment Validation Window.
The framework is not a peer-reviewed formula or evidence that physical printing is the best review method for every project. It complements drawings, BIM, renderings, virtual reality, projection and professional review. In the Big Floor Plans knowledge model, Big IMPACT explains the why, Full-Scale Spatial Validation defines the how, the MacLeamy Curve helps explain the when, and the Construction Spatial Risk Score helps teams consider where deeper spatial review may deserve attention.
Spatial Risk Score and Construction Decision Support
The BFP Spatial Risk Score is a transparent construction screening and walkthrough-planning tool within the BFP Spatial Decision Model v3.0. Screening engine v2.2 reports a Spatial Issue Likelihood Index, a separate Late-Change Consequence Index and Input Quality. The score is a relative screening index—not a probability, defect rate, engineering assessment or prediction that a specific project contains an error.
The tool can organize the screening result by project phase, stakeholder role and selected spatial decisions to generate role-specific walkthrough guidance for architects and designers, owners and developers, general contractors and preconstruction teams, MEP/VDC teams, subcontractors, equipment vendors, sales/client-review teams, operations/facilities teams and commissioning participants. Those workflow layers do not change the published screening equation.
For project-specific financial analysis, the Construction Rework Cost & ROI Calculator applies a separate dollar-impact layer to model potential rework exposure, schedule impact and a Preliminary Print Estimate using disclosed assumptions. Spatial-issue likelihood, late-change consequence and financial exposure remain intentionally separate questions.
Full-scale layout review for specialist verticals
Full-scale layout review applications include data-center rack and MEP layouts, healthcare and life-sciences environments, industrial equipment and manufacturing layouts, hospitality venues, defense and tactical facilities using UNCLASSIFIED information, marine and aviation interiors, film and television production, virtual production and spatial previsualization, ADA and accessibility-clearance review, ADU and compact-home layouts, barndominiums, aging-in-place projects and pre-slab construction walkthroughs.
Film, television and virtual-production teams can use full-scale Spatial Previsualization to physically review selected set geometry, scenic footprints, performer blocking, camera and equipment zones, rehearsal-room ground plans, LED-volume relationships, XR play spaces and motion-capture areas before fabrication, load-in, stage occupancy or other expensive production commitments. Digital previs, virtual scouting, production design, stage engineering, camera tracking and safety review remain complementary professional workflows.
Education printing and free curriculum
Walkable plans, 75 free classroom-ready lesson plans, a standards index, education-evidence and funding resources, and sample plans for PreK–12 STEM, CTE, special education and related spatial-learning programs.

-
Deployment: setup time varies with plan size, panel configuration, surface conditions, weather, access and the intended walkthrough.
-
Accepted input: a floor plan as a PDF (export from DWG, DXF, RVT or SKP to PDF first).
Coverage
Primary service area: all 50 U.S. states. International projects may be reviewed case by case based on destination, freight requirements, project size, customs and logistics. Company location: Dayton, Ohio, United States.
Claim boundaries
-
Outcomes are described as detect, surface, review, compare or reduce risk — not prevent, eliminate, ensure or guarantee.
-
Augmented-reality use: a printed plan can serve as a physical reference that may improve visual tracking; performance depends on the device, application, markers, lighting, calibration and field testing. No drift-free or zero-drift guarantee.
-
Compliance: a full-scale print supports comparison against selected dimensional or project criteria for review. It is not an ADA, NFPA, FAA, MCA, ASHRAE or engineering compliance determination.
