It gives those professionals and their stakeholders a shared physical layout for reviewing questions early.
It does not replace a Registered Accessibility Specialist review in Texas, a Certified Access Specialist review in California, an accessibility inspection, formal plan check, or professional interpretation of the standards adopted for the project.
Important ADA and Accessibility Limitations
A printed floor plan primarily represents horizontal geometry.
It does not verify slopes, elevations, mounting heights, opening force, hardware, grab-bar reinforcement, surface properties, signage, alarms, lighting, acoustics, field tolerances, or the final constructed condition.
Walking the print does not certify compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, ICC A117.1, the International Building Code, Texas Accessibility Standards, California accessibility provisions, the Fair Housing Act, or another applicable requirement.
All identified concerns must be evaluated and formally resolved by the appropriate qualified professionals.
