Why a standards index instead of a subject list
Teachers rarely go looking for "a geometry activity." They go looking for the thing that covers 4.MD.C.6 before Thursday, because that is the code sitting in the curriculum map, the lesson plan template, and the walkthrough rubric. Administrators and CTE directors have the same problem in a different form: they need to show a specific Perkins V or NCCER alignment before a purchase or a program review will move. Each alignment names a specific code that the lesson's objectives and assessment actually address. Where a lesson touches a domain more broadly rather than a single standard, the domain is listed instead of a false precision. Read the lesson's objectives and assessment and judge the fit yourself — that is what the index is for.
Do these lessons meet ESSA evidence requirements?
No product is "ESSA-approved" — the U.S. Department of Education endorses no products, and that status does not exist. Big Floor Plans makes no Tier I, II or III claim. The research cited across the library supports hands-on spatial learning as an instructional approach; the citations are given with DOIs so a district can read them and reach its own conclusion.
Can I use these for a Perkins V or Title IV-A purchase justification?
The CTE alignments on this page name the Perkins V, NCCER, HBI PACT and NAAB codes the lessons address. Perkins V funds may support instructional materials when the proposed purchase is allowable under the applicable state or local plan and connected to an approved CTE program. Schools should confirm eligibility and allowable use with the responsible Perkins or CTE administrator.
